Open conductor systems

Open conductor rail systems are a safe source of power for current capacities up to 3000 A for many power loads that are predominantly subjected to rough operation, e.g., traveling cranes, loading bridges, container handling equipment, monorail systems, coking machinery, electric hoists, etc.

Special features

Insulated Conductor System U10

The insulated conductor system U 10 is a conductor rail used for supplying main power and signal current, as well as data transmission (Powercom), especially for monorail systems. Slip rings and multipole slipring units also present no problems.

Insulated Conductor System U15, U25, U35

U15, U25, U35 are single-phase, insulated conductor rails for use in cranes (overhead cranes, loading bridges, etc.), monorail systems, AS/RS systems, elevator systems, sliding doors, data and signal transmission, amusement rides, high-voltage installations, conductor rail trench systems, and many more, for a current consumption of
10 to 1250 A.

Insulated conductor systems U20, U30, U40

U20, U30, U40 are single-phase, insulated conductor rails for the range from 60 to 1000 A. The rails are suitable for supplying power for a wide range of applications, e.g., cranez, transport installations with several lifting and conveying devices, amusement rides, and many more.

Compact Conductor Systems VKS 10  &  VKS

VKS is a space saving conductor system, designed to prevent accidental touch to regulations VDE 0470 part 1 (EN 60529). It consists of a flat PVC housing and pure copper or stainless steel conductors. The minimum space required allows the system to be integrated in the crane or hoist track. Multipole systems with 3, 4, or 6 conductors are available and several housings can be easily combined to get as many conductors as required. VKS can be used for indoor and roof-over (rain-protected) applications. The system is designed for hoists, stacker cranes, monorails, machine tools, testing lines and many other types of mobile equipment. The PVC housing holds 3 - 6 conductors for power supply and control functions.

VKS 10 is a compact, safe conductor system protected from contact in accordance with DIN VDE 0470 Part 1 (EN60529). It consists of a flat insulating housing, in which the conductor rails are held. This flat construction allows the direct placement in half profiles and VAHLE carrier profiles. In connection with the newly developed HRL carrier profile, hanging distances up to 4.5 m can be realized without expensive auxiliary structures. According to the phase configuration, in addition to the power supply, there are still 3-6 other conductors available for transmitting signal currents. In addition, the system permits the economical integration of various path-coding systems. With these properties, the VKS 10 system is excellently suited for automatic stackers. It is to be used only for indoor installations and for horizontal arrangements in straight tracks.

Enclosed Conductor Systems KSL | KBSL

KBSL and KSL have been used successfully for many years and have been continuously improved and adapted to the latest state of the art. They are conductor lines in a rigid PVC housing with different copper cross sections for rated currents of 40 - 200A. The current collectors, running in ball bearings, are guided by the housing. The main is transferred by spring-stored carbon brushes.

Compact arrangement, corrosion resistance, and simple assembly are the essential features. The ranges of applications are overhead and elongated tracks for cranes, monorails, electric hoists, electric tools, stacking systems, as well as many other applications for supplying power to moving power loads.

The KBH is a powerail, protected from contact (IP 23), for indoor and outdoor plants. They are conductor lines in a rigid grey PVC housing with different copper cross sections for rated currents of 40 - 200A. The current collectors, running in ball bearings, are guided by the housing. The main is transferred by spring-stored carbon brushes.

Compact arrangement, corrosion resistance, and simple assembly are the essential features. The KBH is suitable especially for overhead and elongated tracks for cranes, monorails, electric hoists, electric tools, stacking systems, as well as many other applications for supplying power to moving power loads.

Enclosed Conductor System MKH

MKH is a totally enclosed conductor system with 6 - 10 conductors, for indoor and outdoor use. The gray coloured housing can be supplied with different copper sections for ratings from 40 - 200 A. After installation of the PVC housing the flat copper bars, supplied in coils, are to be pulled into the housing, using factory-supplied tools. MKL requires a minimum of space, is easy to install and cannot corrode. Typical applications are overhead cranes, monorails, hoists, storage and retrieval systems, power tools, lighting systems and many others.






Contactless Power Supply CPS

The initials CPS® designate the VAHLE Contactless Power Supply system. CPS® supplies mobile users with electric current. Electric current is transferred inductively from a stationary [primary] conductor to moving users. Unique to CPS® is the fact that the primary conductor can also be used for contactless data transfer. Continuous development since 1997 resulted in presently over 450 VAHLE CPS® installations worldwide in diverse industries. Invaluable know-how gained during these years enables VAHLE to implement customer specific solutions for complex application requirements.

Innovative Development
Important criteria for the CPS® development were an economical wide range of capacities and application possibilities whereby high environmental compatibility was a major requirement. The relatively low conductor current of only 70A  [for some specific applications even only 35A] resulted in a very high degree of efficiency with extremely high electro-magnetic compatibility [EMV/EMF].
